How this practice works
This is a private, full-fee psychology practice.
Clients are welcome to attend with or without a GP referral. Many women choose to self-refer and book privately (and, if able, claim through private health insurance), without involving Medicare or their GP, while others prefer to use a Mental Health Treatment Plan (MHTP). Both options are supported.
Where a Mental Health Treatment Plan is in place, eligibility for Medicare rebates is determined by the client’s GP and Medicare. Dee does not manage, monitor, or guarantee rebate eligibility.
Online bookings require a 50% holding deposit with the outstanding balance payable at commencement of the booked session. Payment is accepted by either a Visa or Mastercard debit/credit card. Private therapy packages and EMDR packages may be paid via direct payment to the practice bank account (details will be on the invoice).
Note: payment requirements do not apply to clients funded by Victim Services NSW.
Where eligible, Medicare rebates may be processed following payment as a complementary service.
Individual therapy is offered via secure telehealth and is tailored to each woman’s circumstances, goals, and pace.

Many women prefer a short, focused block of work without the administrative or reporting requirements associated with Medicare.

Further 5-session (50 min) private therapy packages for continuing clients ($1,075) are available if booked as a private therapy package.
Packages are non-refundable and valid for use within six months from payment date.
EMDR
(Eye Movement Desensitisation & Reprocessing)
EMDR is available where clinically appropriate and may be offered as part of an individual therapy plan or as a stand-alone intervention.
EMDR sessions are longer and more intensive and are scheduled separately from standard therapy sessions.
An initial consultation is required to assess suitability for EMDR and is not included in EMDR packages (See above for initial session fee).

Clients referred by a GP or psychiatrist under a valid Mental Health Treatment Plan may be eligible for a Medicare rebate.

Where possible, Dee will submit Medicare claims following the consultation and full payment of the session fee as a complementary service.
It remains the client’s responsibility to:

Liaise with their GP regarding referrals and plan reviews
Medicare rebates cannot be claimed in conjunction with private health insurance rebates.
For clients wishing to claim the Medicare rebate, please ask your GP to complete the referral form below.
Incomplete referrals cannot be accepted.
Other Funded Services
Victim Services NSW
A very limited number of funded sessions are available for eligible women and offered on a case-by-case basis. Should you be approved for counselling by Victim Services NSW and would like to book in for a consultation, please email your approal letter/email from Victim Services NSW along with your phone number and email details. Dee will contact you at the earliest opportunity to discuss availability.
EAP
Available by prior agreement with employer only.
Workcover and NDIS
Dee does not provide services under WorkCover or the NDIS.
Reports
On occasion, Dee may provide a report to a client upon request that describes the impact of contextual factors upon a woman and to recommend supports or accommodations where appropriate. She does not provide forensic, capacity, or medical reports. Any requests will be declined immediately.
Assessment
Dee does not offer formal cognitive or neurodevelopmental assessment services, including for ADHD or Autism.
Who this practice is not for
This practice is for women who are trying to make sense of their lives after prolonged stress, trauma, or harmful relational experiences; and who are no longer interested in being reduced to labels, diagnoses, or simplistic explanations. It would not be suitable for anyone who is not a woman aged 18+ or for meeting the needs of women seeking:

Crisis or emergency mental health care

Ongoing medico-legal reports or assessments

Mandatory treatment, compliance-based therapy, or where therapy goals are imposed by someone else or an organisation

Primary diagnosis-driven or symptom-reduction-only treatment models (whilst the support Dee offers may reduce distress, the primary intention is to support clients by providing greater understanding, insight, and guidance on reducing the impact of the distress on her moving forward.

Services funded through Workcover or the NDIS.

Boys or men as this service is women-centered.

Anyone under age 18.
Cancellation Policy

More than 48 hours’ notice: no fee

24–48 hours’ notice: 50% of session fee

Less than 24 hours’ notice: 100% of session fee
Whilst the need to reschedule appointments can, and does, come up from time to time, the above notice is required to ensure that adequate time is available to offer the cancelled booking time to another client who may be in urgent need of support. However, should the session be able to be filled or a medical certificate be emailed within 3 business days of the cancelled booking time the cancellation fee will be refunded in full.
