Psychological work with women after harmful or controlling relationships

When confusion, self-doubt, and anxiety are the aftermath of a relationship

Emotional, psychological abuse and coercive control

(sometimes described as narcissistic abuse)

Many women arrive describing experiences often labelled as emotional abuse, psychological abuse, coercive control, or domestic abuse. Others don't use these terms at all (or don't have the words), but describe a gradual increase in anxiety, overwhelm and stress along with erosion of confidence, autonomy, and trust in their own judgement. The work I do with the women I support who describe these experiences, focuses on understanding and managing the psychological and emotional impacts of such experiences, rather than assigning labels or diagnoses. There is no judgement and no directive instructions, only exploration, support and choice.

This work is not crisis or emergency support

This practice provides non-crisis psychological work only. If you are in immediate danger or require urgent support, please contact emergency services or a specialist crisis service.
